In honor of March 21, World Glacier Day, the Agency for Hydrometeorology held a national scientific and practical conference on "Glaciers, Climate, and Water Resources: Current Challenges and International Cooperation." This was reported by the press service of the Committee for Environmental Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan.


Representatives of the government, academia, and international organizations participated in the event. The speeches highlighted the importance of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon's international initiatives in protecting glaciers and water resources.



The conference discussed issues related to the state of glaciers, water resource monitoring, cryospheric research, and international cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to developing recommendations for preserving glaciers in the face of climate change and strengthening scientific cooperation.
