Tajikistan celebrates Mother's Day on March 8. On this occasion, President Emomali Rahmon congratulated mothers, women, sisters, and daughters on the holiday.

In his congratulatory address, the head of state wished all mothers and women, first and foremost, health, happiness, good luck, and family well-being.

He noted that the arrival of spring, which coincides with the holiday of mothers and women, is a symbol of the rebirth of nature, purity, beauty and the creation of the sacred essence of the mother.

According to the President, this day is not only a symbol of respect for mothers and veneration of their status, dignity, and value, but also a sign of recognition of the significant contribution women make to the development of the state and the stability of society.

Emomali Rahmon emphasized that the mother is an eternal symbol of human life, pure and sincere love, and a source of morality.

He noted that a mother plays a unique and invaluable role in shaping a child's personality, strengthening the family, ensuring peace and stability in society, and in the development of the state.

According to the President, the development of society is ensured by the enormous work, patience, and endurance of mothers, as well as their sincere love for the education and upbringing of a healthy and creative generation.

The head of state emphasized that the greatness of women and mothers has been celebrated throughout history by thousands of world-renowned thinkers, sages, philosophers, and poets, and this tradition will continue in the future.

He noted that a mother, being the creator of a child, is not only a symbol of beauty and grace, but also the keeper of the hearth, and the link between the family and society.

According to the president, for millennia, mothers have fulfilled the great mission of guardians of the language, culture, good traditions, and values of the ancient Tajik nation, playing a vital role in shaping the national identity and self-awareness of generations.

Emomali Rahmon noted that this year's Mother's Day coincided with an important event for the country: the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence.

In this regard, he expressed satisfaction with the fact that the women and girls of the country have made a significant contribution to the achievements, progress, improvement and creation of the ancestral land for more than three decades.

The President recalled that during the most difficult years of independence, Tajik women and mothers made an invaluable contribution to the restoration of constitutional authority and the strengthening of peace, stability, and national unity.

The head of state emphasized that, taking into account women's contribution to the development of the state and society, the country's government has adopted and implemented a number of laws, state strategies, programs, and other documents aimed at enhancing the status of women and ensuring their rights.

He noted that Tajik women and girls, as reliable partners of the state, are currently actively involved in the implementation of national strategic goals.

According to the President, respect for women as mothers is not only a moral duty, but also a political and social necessity of the state.

He emphasized that the protection of women's rights and interests has been declared one of the key directions of state policy since the first days of independence.

The President noted that historical experience shows that a society where women are respected ensures social stability, national unity, and sustainable development.

Emomali Rahmon also emphasized the importance of creating educational opportunities for girls. He noted that the country has a presidential quota, which has enabled thousands of talented girls from remote regions to attend higher education institutions.

He noted that this step is seen as an investment in the future of the nation, as every educated girl means an enlightened family, an educated generation and a prosperous society.

The President cited the words of great thinkers that a man's wisdom leads to a literate family, but it is the enlightenment of a woman that determines the level of education of a nation.

He emphasized that an educated and enlightened woman raises a literate generation.

The head of state also noted that the issue of education and knowledge is repeatedly emphasized in Islam. He recalled that the first verse of the Holy Quran speaks of reading and the pursuit of knowledge, and a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad states that the pursuit of knowledge is the duty of every Muslim—both men and women.

According to the president, today Tajik women work in all sectors of the national economy—agriculture, industry, energy, construction, banking, business, and services—making a significant contribution to the country's development.

He also noted that women play an important role in the activities of representative bodies of power, public administration structures, and law enforcement agencies.

The President emphasized that there is currently not a single industry in the country in which women and girls do not make a significant contribution.

The head of state noted that support for women's entrepreneurship and handicrafts, the allocation of presidential grants, the provision of preferential loans, and the creation of new jobs have contributed to strengthening women's economic independence and the development of folk crafts.

He reported that in 2025, the country's banking system provided loans to women entrepreneurs totaling 8 billion somoni.

Emomali Rahmon also emphasized that in the context of globalization and the growth of various threats and dangers, the responsibility of mothers and women for the upbringing of the younger generation is increasing.

According to him, preventing fanaticism, prejudice, extremism, and the worship of foreign cultures begins in the family, and it is the mother who can instill in the child a sense of patriotism, self-awareness, and respect for national values.

The President noted that proper upbringing of children is a guarantee of happiness for every family, stability for society, and security for the state.

He emphasized that if a mother guides her child toward knowledge, mastering a profession, hard work, and creativity, then in the future, society and the state will be protected from many difficulties.

The President called on mothers and women to take a more responsible approach to the upbringing and education of their children, to pay attention to their morality and behavior, and to guide them toward the study of sciences, crafts, and respect for the law and national values.

According to the head of state, the future of independent Tajikistan lies in the hands of the new generation.

He also called on mothers and women to be role models for society in observing the provisions of the national laws “On the Regulation of Celebrations and Rituals” and “On Responsibility for the Education and Upbringing of a Child.”

The President noted that thrifty and frugal women and girls are the blessing of the home and the foundation of family happiness.

He emphasized that in modern conditions it is necessary to avoid excessive spending, excesses and ostentation, thinking first and foremost about the well-being of the family and children.

Emomali Rahmon noted that men will always appreciate maternal care, sleepless nights, and the work of mothers.

“We sincerely love you and will always defend your honor and dignity,” the president emphasized.

He stated that mothers will always be revered as the creative angel, educator and mentor of a healthy and creative generation.

In conclusion, Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude to mothers and women for their selfless work and service to the Motherland and once again congratulated them on the holiday.

He wished mothers and women health, happiness, success in the cause of patriotism and state building, strengthening of peace and stability, national unity and further progress of Tajikistan.
