On March 3, 2026, a meeting of the expert group was held to finalize and coordinate information on the implementation of the Plan of Multilevel Inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consultations within the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Action Program to Enhance Partnership between the Foreign Affairs Ministries of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2025. This was reported by the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee.
Representatives from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the work of the expert group.
The documents being developed will be presented to the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers on April 17, 2026, in Moscow.
It is noted that multi-level inter-MFA consultations within the CIS, conducted since 1995, are an important instrument of political interaction between states.
Consultations are held on a regular basis in the format of interested parties in accordance with the Plan, which is approved annually at a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.
The main objectives of the consultations are a broad exchange of information and opinions on current foreign policy issues of mutual interest, on regional and global policy issues, as well as an analysis of problems hindering the advancement of joint initiatives in international organizations.
