Iranian citizens report that the popular app "Bad Sabah," used to track prayer times, has been hacked. Instead of prayer times, users are receiving messages calling for the overthrow of the Iranian regime. Large-scale protests have previously been suppressed by the authorities in the country.
Reuters, citing an official, reports that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is not in Tehran and has been transferred to a safe location. Iran has completely closed its airspace. Mobile phone service and internet access have been completely cut off in some areas of the country. Neighboring Iraq's airspace has also been closed.
Tehran is reportedly not the only target of attacks. Explosions have been heard in the cities of Qom, Isfahan (home to a major Iranian Defense Ministry ammunition factory), Karaj, Kermanshah, and Tabriz.
According to Israeli media citing a source in the country's leadership, Israel and the United States had been preparing the operation for several months, and it was approved several weeks ago—while negotiations were ongoing between the US and Iran. It is claimed that four days of powerful joint strikes are being prepared, after which "Tehran will never be the same."
