According to him, the program aims to prevent the deterioration of the dilapidated infrastructure and includes expanding water supply coverage, reducing water losses, improving the quality of services, and implementing modern technologies. Various funding mechanisms are envisaged for its implementation, including funds from the state budget, local authorities, development partners, and the private sector.
It is reported that the implementation of the program will contribute to increasing the availability of drinking water, reconstructing worn-out networks, and constructing new water supply and wastewater treatment facilities.
Participants emphasized that providing drinking water and sanitation services to the population is a key area of the water sector, and the development of this sector is a priority for the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. It was noted that the efficient use of water resources contributes to improving public health and forms the basis for the country's socioeconomic development.
