Tajikistan has officially recognized Russian halal certificates, TASS reported, citing Roskachestvo.
The organization stated that Russian producers of products certified by the Roskachestvo-Halal agency have gained direct access to the Tajik market without undergoing additional procedures.
"Russian manufacturers of products certified by the Roskachestvo Halal Agency have gained direct access to the Tajik market without undergoing additional procedures. The Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (Tajikstandart) has officially confirmed the recognition of Halal certificates of conformity issued by the Russian accredited body," the statement reads.
As Roskachestvo noted, the decision means that products from Russian manufacturers that have passed the established certification procedure can freely enter the Tajik market. Businesses are no longer required to re-obtain local certificates, simplifying and accelerating the entry of goods into the Tajik market, while also reducing financial and time costs.
Roskachestvo emphasized that the recognition of halal certificates opens new opportunities for Russian exporters working in the Islamic-compliant product segment. The organization added that Tajikistan is a partner of Russia, and demand for high-quality halal products in its market is steadily growing.
All certificates issued by Roskachestvo Halal are reportedly entered into the Federal State Information System of Rosaccreditation. Russian halal certificates are also recognized in several countries of the Persian Gulf, the CIS, as well as Algeria and Pakistan.
