As part of a working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakstan Temir Zholy, met with Komil Mirzoali, Head of the State Unitary Enterprise Rokhi Ohani Tochikiston, the CIS Executive Committee press service reported.
During the negotiations, the parties noted significant growth in key cooperation indicators. By the end of 2025, the total volume of cargo transported between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan increased by 15.1 percent to 5.9 million tons.
Kazakhstan's exports to Tajikistan also increased by 7.6 percent to 2.6 million tons. These exports included grain, flour, petroleum products, ferrous metals, non-ferrous ores, vegetable oil, and other goods.
The heads of railway administrations agreed to continue working to improve the competitiveness of railway routes, strengthen trade and economic ties in the region, further integrate logistics processes, digitalize documentation, and jointly develop transport corridors linking Central Asia with global markets.
It was noted that the cooperation between JSC NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and State Unitary Enterprise "Rohi oҳani Toҷikӣ" is based on a long-standing partnership and is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted transport links between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Following the meeting, a bilateral protocol was signed on the results of work for 2025 and plans for 2026.
In addition, as part of the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Head of State of Tajikistan, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kholikzoda Hakim Khikmatullo, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin.
During the talks, the parties discussed in detail key aspects of strengthening international cooperation and identified strategic areas for developing the transit and logistics potential of the two countries. Particular attention was paid to creating efficient transport corridors and increasing freight traffic volumes, which is intended to provide additional impetus to economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
