During his visit to the United States, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with John Reese, President of Nicklaus Companies, and its senior management. The meeting discussed the current status and prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Noting his pleasure at meeting with the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, John Reese shared warm memories of his visit to Turkmenistan and his impressions of the architectural ensemble of its capital, Ashgabat, which has embarked on a path of harmonious development in all areas.
Thanking for the kind words, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the country's high priority on consistently promoting high-performance sports, recreation, and tourism, which Turkmenistan views as a strategic aspect of global sustainable development. In this regard, he emphasized that the country has developed a sports and tourism infrastructure that meets modern needs.
During the meeting, materials about golf courses built with the participation of Nicklaus Companies were shown.
Noting the positive practices developed in cooperation with Nicklaus Companies, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan announced plans to build similar fields in the city of Arkadag and the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
John Reese also invited the National Leader of the Turkmen people to familiarize himself with a number of important projects planned for implementation in the Avaza National Tourist Zone and the city of Arkadag.

An exhibition of textile products, which are in high demand on the global market, was held here. Among the exhibits were various types of sportswear made from cotton yarn. It was gratifying that products from specialized companies in our country bearing the "Made in Turkmenistan" label were also on display.
Having thanked the representatives of the US golf club for the meaningful meeting and wished them success, the National Leader of the Turkmen people departed from the scene.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan inspected the horses housed at the complex and learned about their care and training methods. The working meeting was held on the basis of the Resolution signed by the President of Turkmenistan at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 13 of this year, in connection with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses", as well as with the aim of further increasing the world fame of "paradise" horses.
The working meeting discussed issues related to ensuring a high organizational level for events to be held in Turkmenistan and abroad in 2026, which is held under the motto "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses."
During a working meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Germany B. Rejepov reported on the current state of Turkmen-German relations. As noted, bilateral cooperation is steadily developing in various areas.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan noted the importance of ensuring high-level participation and preparation for the FEI World Championship 2026, which will be held from August 11 to 23, 2026, in the German city of Aachen, and for the Akhal-Teke horse beauty contest, which will be held in September in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Having concluded the working meeting and wished the participants success in their work, Hero Arkadag departed the scene of the event for his homeland.
