On February 20, 2026, the 92nd meeting of the Interstate Commission for Water Coordination of Central Asia (ICWC) was held in Dushanbe.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma, ICWC members Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Shavkat Khamrayev, Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Durdy Gendzhiev, Chairman of the State Water Resources Committee of Turkmenistan, and representatives of Kyrgyzstan as an observer country, according to the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.






Opening the event, Daler Juma welcomed the delegations of Central Asian countries and emphasized that the activities of the ICWC as an important coordinating structure are key to the efficient use of the region's water resources.
The Minister also invited participants to the Fourth International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028,” which will be held from 25 to 28 May 2026 in Dushanbe.






The meeting was held in a spirit of friendship and mutual understanding. The discussion focused on water supply performance, the operating regime of the reservoir cascades during the 2025–2026 non-growing season in the Syr Darya and Amu Darya river basins, the implementation of proposals and initiatives by the heads of state—the founding members of IFAS—and current issues.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Protocol of the 92nd meeting of the Interstate Coordination Water Management Commission of Central Asia was signed.
