Tajikistan has denied rumors that iftar is banned during Ramadan. The Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reported this.
The agency stated that reports of a ban or restriction on iftar are unfounded. It also emphasized that eating after sunset is not covered by the country's current law "On the Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations, and Rituals."
The committee emphasized the importance of avoiding wastefulness during iftar. Instead of organizing lavish feasts, citizens can donate food or other goods to those in need and their neighbors, which provides greater satisfaction.
In addition, authorities recommended that residents of Tajikistan perform good deeds during Ramadan, visit the sick, help those in need, and pay more attention to charity.
Iftar is the first meal Muslims eat after sunset during the fast. During this meal, it is recommended to eat light foods and avoid lavish feasts.
