Collective Security Treaty Organization exercises in 2026 will be held in Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Belarus. This was announced at a briefing by Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, according to the CIS Executive Committee press service.
"In accordance with the approved plan for the current year, 60 joint and operational training events are planned, including eight command-staff and special exercises," he noted. "In September, a joint exercise with units of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian region, 'Rubezh,' will be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In September and October, the Russian Federation will host a command-staff exercise with the Collective Rapid Reaction Force, 'Interaction,' a special exercise with reconnaissance forces and assets, 'Poisk,' and a special exercise with logistics support, 'Echelon.' In October, the Republic of Tajikistan will host a special exercise, 'Cobalt,' and a special exercise, 'Rock.'" On the territory of the Republic of Belarus, a command and staff exercise with peacekeeping forces, "Indestructible Brotherhood," and a special exercise with a joint formation of radiation-chemical, biological protection and medical support, "Barrier," are taking place.
Serdyukov added that the strategic command and staff exercise will focus on practicing the use of all components of the Collective Forces involved in the joint exercises. "Representatives of the Anti-Terrorism Center, the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the CIS Border Troops, and the Secretariat of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly are planned to participate in the exercise as observers. The documents developed during the strategic exercise will form the basis for the plans for the upcoming joint exercises," he concluded.
