Construction has begun on a 3,000-seat Palace of Culture in Khujand, the capital of the Sughd region. According to the press service of the Sughd region's governor, the facility is being built as part of improvements to mark the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
According to the information, the building will be constructed in the national architectural style. The project is being promoted as part of a large-scale anniversary project timed to coincide with the national anniversary.
At the same time, the city plans to create the Abulkosim Firdavsi Culture and Recreation Park. The new park will occupy 2.4 hectares of land in the 6th and 7th mahallas of Khujand.
According to the project, 50% of the territory will be landscaped, and the remaining part will be used for the creation of the necessary infrastructure.
The press service noted that the construction of the anniversary facility is seen as evidence of peace and stability, unity and solidarity, as well as the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan's commitment to sustainable urban development and improving living standards.
