In Tajikistan, civil registry offices registered 255,100 newborns between January and December 2025, within the timeframe established by law, excluding birth certificates from previous years for restoration purposes. During this period, 34,400 deaths were registered, according to Khayriddin Usmonzoda, director of the Center for Strategic Studies, at a press conference.
According to preliminary estimates, the overall birth and death rates in the republic were 24.0 and 3.2 people per 1000 population, respectively.






It is noted that in January–December 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, birth registration in the republic increased by 1.4%. This increase was recorded in all regions of the country.
In Khatlon Region, birth registrations increased by 1.9% to 105,400. In Sughd Region, the figure increased by 1.4% to 62,800. In the Districts of Republican Subordination, birth registrations increased by 1.2% to 57,900, and in Dushanbe, by 0.4% to 25,600.



According to preliminary data, the natural population growth for January–December 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 increased by 1.0% and amounted to 220.7 thousand people, which corresponds to 20.8 people per 1000 population.
