Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, called on members of the Majlisi Milli and media representatives to explain and inform the public about the nature and significance of the amendments and additions to the Code of the Republic of Tajikistan on Administrative Offenses regarding increased penalties for failure to comply with traffic regulations. He made this statement during the fifth session of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan of the seventh convocation, held yesterday.
According to the Dushanbe City Executive Authority, a total of 14,126 public passenger transport vehicles are currently in use in the capital. These include 701 municipal passenger vehicles, 1,210 private minibuses, and 12,215 taxis operated by city transport companies.
In addition, to regulate vehicle traffic as part of the "Intelligent System for Photo and Video Recording of Traffic Violations" project, 149 CCTV cameras have been installed and commissioned at public transport stops and in designated public transport lanes in Dushanbe.
It is noted that, based on the instructions of Dushanbe Mayor Rustami Emomali, responsible officials have been instructed to ensure the rational movement and regulation of public passenger transport and other vehicles on the avenues and adjacent streets of the capital.
As part of these instructions, as well as the implementation of the "City Parking Paid Parking Organization" project, paid parking has been established in 308 zones on Dushanbe's streets and avenues. 205 CCTV cameras have been installed at 81 intersections, and 67 speed cameras have been installed on 58 streets and roads.
In addition, to improve the quality of public transport service in the capital, an electronic passenger navigation system is being introduced. GPS tracking equipment and passenger flow sensors have been installed on 510 buses and 103 trolleybuses, and during the reporting period, these technologies were also installed on 57 electric buses.
