Seven avalanches of varying sizes were recorded on the night of February 5-6 on the 78-81 km section of the Dushanbe-Chanak highway, which runs through the Ayni district.
According to the IRS branch, the required amount of specialized equipment and machinery has been deployed to clear the roadway. Work to mitigate the aftermath of the avalanches continues.
Drivers are advised to temporarily refrain from traveling in this direction until official notification of the opening of the road.



According to the Hydrometeorology Agency, heavy precipitation is expected in the districts of republican subordination and Khatlon Region on February 6. Rain and sleet are forecast in lowland areas, while snow is expected in foothill, mountain, and highland areas.
Heavy snowfall is possible on mountain passes, which could significantly impede traffic. Snow drifts, fog, reduced visibility, and a high avalanche risk are expected.
In the valley, foothill and mountainous regions, a drop in air temperature of 10–12 degrees Celsius is predicted.
In addition, from February 6 to 9, the risk of avalanches remains in avalanche-prone areas of the highway, including the Dushanbe-Chanak section at km 48–74, as well as in the Maykhura-Zidekh sections of the Varzob district and in the mountainous regions of republican subordination.
