On February 4, 2026, the qualifying round of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) was held at the State Institution Analytical and Information Center under the Main Education Department of Dushanbe. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The International Olympiad (IOI) is one of the most prestigious global competitions in informatics and is held annually with participation from over 80 countries. The main goal of the Olympiad is to identify, support, and train gifted students in information technology and programming.



Seventy-three gifted schoolchildren from various cities and regions of Tajikistan participated in the Olympiad's qualifying round. Participants demonstrated their knowledge and practical skills in solving algorithmic problems and programming.
It is noted that the final stage of the International Olympiad IOI–2026 will be held from July 9 to 16, 2026 in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
Such scientific events help develop logical thinking, improve digital literacy, and prepare students for international competition.
