On February 4 of this year, Khatlon Region Chairman Davlatali Said, during a working visit to the Jaykhun District, participated in the potato planting launch event at the Akhliddi farm in the Istiklol rural jamoat. This was reported by the regional chairman's press service.
It was reported that in order to develop agriculture, ensure food security and fully satisfy the population's consumer basket with fresh produce, potato planting is planned for the Khatlon region this year on a total area of 8,000 hectares, of which 346 hectares are in the Jaykhun district.

According to officials, potato planting has already begun on over 110 hectares in the Jayhun District. Farmers are taking advantage of favorable sunny days to increase the pace of fieldwork. These measures are contributing to increased domestic production and supplying local markets with fresh vegetables.
According to officials, the Akhliddi farm has 4 hectares of arable land, where shareholders have begun planting potatoes this year. They are using domestically produced seed of the high-yielding Mastchokh variety, which is adapted to the region's climate and ensures a good harvest.

The Khatlon Region Chairman inspected the potato planting process, soil cultivation, and agricultural practices, and gave specific instructions and recommendations to responsible officials on meeting planting deadlines, using high-quality seeds, applying fertilizers correctly, and increasing yields.
During the event, it was emphasized that agricultural development is a priority area of state policy, and that farmers' contribution to ensuring the country's food security is essential.
It is noted that the implementation of such measures is carried out within the framework of the instructions of Emomali Rahmon and contributes to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, an increase in domestic production, and an improvement in the standard of living of the population.
