Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday called on China and the UK, as supporters of multilateralism and free trade, to jointly uphold and practice genuine multilateralism.
Xi Jinping made the statement during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Beijing, adding that international law is only truly effective if all countries comply with it.
Moreover, large countries must first and foremost play a leading role in this direction, otherwise the world risks returning to the law of the jungle, Xi Jinping emphasized.
