At the initiative of the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, volunteers from the public organization "Followers of the Leader of the Nation" organized a snow removal campaign in four districts of Dushanbe. This was reported by NIAT Khovar, citing the Committee for Youth and Sports.
The campaign was carried out to ensure pedestrian safety and prevent tree branches from breaking, making it a worthy example to follow.
Volunteers, possessing a strong sense of responsibility and civic spirit, expressed their intention to regularly conduct similar charitable events and make a significant contribution to improving and maintaining a clean environment. Volunteers conduct daily activities aimed at maintaining a clean and tidy environment.
Within the framework of the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, its substructures and organizations, including the public organization "Followers of the Leader of the Nation," more than 10,000 volunteers work daily, making a valuable contribution to public safety.
Currently, the charitable system has become very active throughout the country, and volunteers contribute to all areas of society. They play a significant role in organizing various high-profile events in the capital, as well as in other cities and districts. This system is under the special attention of Dushanbe Mayor Rustami Emomali.
In particular, volunteers made a significant contribution to the holding of high-level national and international events in Dushanbe. Active volunteers also participated in the organization of an important political campaign—the high-level elections.
The public organization "Followers of the Leader of the Nation" supports the people and the state during difficult times, and its volunteers, as followers of Head of State Emomali Rahmon, serve faithfully and conscientiously in all areas. During the pandemic, in particular, volunteers made a significant contribution to COVID-19 prevention by organizing awareness campaigns, flash mobs, developing videos, and conducting various online programs.
To improve the effectiveness of volunteerism, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On Volunteering" was adopted in 2013. It defines the legal, organizational, and social foundations of volunteerism. The law also regulates public relations related to this type of activity.
At the same time, the "Volunteer Development Program in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023–2027" is being implemented to develop volunteerism. It helps volunteers solve various problems within the framework of charitable, humanitarian, and coordination goals.
It's worth noting that volunteerism, or voluntary work, has existed among the people of Tajikistan for thousands of years in various forms. Our ancestors used this activity to promote the prosperity of the Motherland, expand national consciousness, instill a love for the land, and provide assistance to those in need through the practice of hashar.
