As a result of operational investigations, Dushanbe police officers uncovered two new cases of fortune-telling and witchcraft, according to the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the capital detained 46-year-old Dushanbe resident Khalimova Makhina while she was engaged in fortune telling.
In addition, 60-year-old Dushanbe resident Rashidov Abdulmadud was detained by officers of the OMVD-2 for the Firdavsi district for fortune telling and witchcraft.


According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Rashidov visited people's homes and, using salt, water, harmala, dry tea, sugar, and various talismans, engaged in fortune telling and witchcraft for the purpose of obtaining material gain.
For each of the above-mentioned facts, administrative protocols were drawn up under Article 482 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan.
By court decision, Khalimova Makhin and Rashidov Abdulmadud were sentenced to an administrative fine in the amount of 80 calculation units, which is 6,000 somoni each.
