China is a responsible, major developing country, and its efforts to combat climate change, promote global development, and embrace renewable energy have been widely recognized, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Thursday.
The diplomat made this statement at a press briefing in response to US President Donald Trump, who reportedly stated on Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland, that China produces a large number of wind turbines, but "he couldn't find a single wind farm in China." Trump also noted that China sells wind turbines to "stupid" people.
Guo Jiakun emphasized that China has created the world's most advanced carbon emission reduction policy system and the largest renewable energy system. The country is actively sharing its achievements in green development, the Chinese Foreign Ministry noted.
The official noted that China's installed wind power capacity has ranked first in the world for 15 consecutive years. As of the end of November 2025, the country's installed wind power capacity exceeded 600 million kilowatts.
Between 2021 and 2025, China's wind and photovoltaic exports will help reduce carbon emissions in other countries by approximately 4.1 billion tonnes.
Guo Jiakun added that China is willing to work with all parties to continue promoting the global green and low-carbon transition and jointly build a clean and safe world.
