On January 21, 2026, in Dushanbe, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, held a meeting with the President of ACWA Power for Central Asia, Abid Malik.
During the meeting, key issues related to expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector were discussed. The parties focused on the implementation of solar power plant construction projects in the Republic of Tajikistan with a total installed capacity of 1,250 MW, according to the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.


It was noted that the implementation of these projects could make a significant contribution to the diversification of electricity generation sources, as well as to the development of renewable energy in the country.
In addition, in order to strengthen the resilience of the national energy system, improve the reliability of electricity supply, and increase transmission capacity, the parties emphasized the importance of implementing the project to construct the 500 kV Rogun-Saihoon high-voltage power transmission line, as well as its extension from the Saihoon point to the Sogd-500 electrical substation.
