The Sino District Department of Internal Affairs (ODM-1) received a report from a 44-year-old resident of the Rudaki district, a businessman who runs the Farovon market, about a theft at his grocery store, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
It was reported that on January 7, 2026, at approximately 7:10 a.m., a 19-year-old resident of the Rudaki district, previously convicted under Article 244 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, secretly entered a store and stole food and various beverages before fleeing the scene. The damage caused amounted to 5,480 somoni.
During the investigative operations, police also detained a 19-year-old resident of the Lakhsh district on suspicion of theft. It was established that on November 20, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM, the suspect secretly entered the home of a 43-year-old resident of the Lakhsh district and stole one head of cattle worth 10,000 somoni. The stolen animal was subsequently sold to a 43-year-old resident of the district for 7,700 somoni.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 244 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The investigation is ongoing.
