In the eastern part of the city of Penjikent, at the intersection of Rudaki Avenue and Saadi Shirazi Street, construction continues on the Abulkasim Ferdowsi cultural and entertainment park, the city administration press service reported.
During the visit of the city chairman, Abdukholik Kholikzoda, on January 5, 2026, it became known that construction was in full swing.
The park's design is shaped like a stringed musical instrument. It will feature majestic gates, a statue of Abulqasim Ferdowsi, murals, sculptures of characters from the Shahnameh poem, including Rustam and Suhrob, horse images, walking paths, rest areas, and fountains.
The builders have been instructed to construct the park strictly in accordance with the design and to a high standard of workmanship.
On the same day, the city chairman also inspected the construction of a new 200-bed children's hospital building and gave specific instructions to expedite the work.
