Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that he had a "very good" phone conversation with US Special Representative Steve Witkoff and US Presidential Advisor Jared Kushner. He wrote this on his microblog on the X platform on Thursday, December 25.
According to Zelenskyy, several significant details of the work were discussed during the conversation. The Ukrainian President noted that there are good ideas that could work towards a common goal and lasting peace.
Zelenskyy thanked Wittkoff and Kushner for their constructive and intensive work, as well as for their kind words and Christmas greetings to Ukrainians. The President emphasized: "We are working 24/7 to bring an end to this brutal Russian war against Ukraine closer and to make all documents and steps realistic, effective, and reliable."
The day before, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had managed to secure some concessions in the latest version of the plan to end the war agreed upon between Washington and Kyiv. This document is currently being reviewed in Moscow.
Zelenskyy's twenty-point plan calls for freezing the current frontline. It also paves the way for troop withdrawal and the creation of demilitarized zones.
