In Tajikistan, from December 22 to 24, after precipitation ceases and the weather subsequently clears, fog will persist in Dushanbe, the Districts of Republican Subordination, and the Sughd and Khatlon regions, with icy conditions expected. This was reported by the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the agency, horizontal visibility is expected to decrease to 100–300 meters during the night and morning hours due to fog. Ice and frost are also expected to form on roads and sidewalks, power lines, trees, and other exposed surfaces.
It is noted that these meteorological phenomena may lead to complications in the traffic situation, an increased risk of road accidents and difficulties in the movement of the population.
In this regard, the Hydrometeorological Agency recommends that drivers observe speed limits, increase the distance between vehicles, and use low-beam headlights. Pedestrians are advised to exercise extra caution when walking on slippery surfaces. Responsible agencies are advised to ensure the readiness of forces and resources and to take measures to ensure road safety and the smooth operation of infrastructure.
