At the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the traditional informal meeting of the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will take place in St. Petersburg on December 22. The Kremlin press service reported this.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss current issues of cooperation between CIS countries, as well as exchange views on regional and international issues. In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold bilateral discussions with the leaders of several participating countries, the press service reported.
The informal meeting in St. Petersburg is part of a regular dialogue among CIS countries aimed at strengthening cooperation and coordinating joint initiatives in the economic, political, and social spheres.
