The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan strongly condemns the attack on Qobiljon Aliyev, a fourth-grade student at Uspenskaya Secondary Comprehensive School in the village of Gorki-2 in the Odintsovo Urban District, motivated by ethnic hatred. On December 16, 2025, an attack occurred inside the school building, resulting in the tragic death of the student. This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan.
In connection with this tragic incident, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, R.Kh. Saidzoda, sent an official letter to the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergey Kravtsov. The letter states, in part:
"The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan highly values the consistent work of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in joint humanitarian activities, which strengthens the centuries-old friendship between our peoples. Taking this opportunity, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan expresses its deep sorrow and grave concern about the tragic incident that occurred on December 16, 2025, at the Uspenskaya Secondary School, located in the village of Gorki-2 in the Odintsovo District of Moscow. As a result, a fourth-grade student, 10-year-old Qobiljon Aliyev, a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, was brutally murdered."
The letter notes that the commission of such a heinous crime in an educational institution is deeply disturbing and alarming, as such acts can have a severe psychological and social impact on children, parents, and the teaching community. Furthermore, such incidents could be exploited by radical and nationalist groups for propaganda and incitement to further crimes, which runs counter to the fundamental values of humanity, mutual respect, and tolerance.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and teachers of the deceased student and emphasizes the need to take comprehensive measures to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies. "We view this incident not only as a tragedy, but also as a challenge to our shared civic position, which is based on respect for Tajik students, whose rights and dignity must be reliably protected in any educational environment," the letter states.
In this regard, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan respectfully appeals to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation with an urgent request to ensure a full, objective and comprehensive investigation of this incident in cooperation with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation, to take the necessary measures to identify the causes and conditions that contributed to the commission of the crime, and to develop and implement additional mechanisms to ensure the safety and protection of the rights of students in educational institutions, regardless of their nationality and citizenship.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan expresses hope that the Russian side will demonstrate a high level of responsibility and take effective measures to guarantee the safety of Tajik schoolchildren in the Russian Federation. "We are also confident that the joint efforts of our agencies will contribute to strengthening friendly relations and developing a strategic partnership between our countries in the field of education, based on mutual respect, trust, and a commitment to creating a safe and harmonious educational environment for all children," the letter emphasized.
