President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with Sekiguchi Masakazu, Chairman of the House of Councillors of Japan. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the head of state emphasized Tajikistan's particular importance to developing interparliamentary cooperation with Japan. He stated that parliamentary diplomacy is an effective tool for further strengthening intergovernmental dialogue between the two countries.



It was considered necessary to intensify and promote relations between the Friendship and Cooperation Group of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the House of Councillors of the Japanese Parliament.
The parties also exchanged views on other aspects of Tajik-Japanese friendship and areas of mutual interest. Specifically, they discussed developing cooperation in the socio-economic sphere, infrastructure, industry, energy, agriculture, environmental protection, and healthcare.



During the talks, particular attention was paid to prospects for cooperation in the digital economy, the implementation of green and digital technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence.
In addition, the parties discussed issues of attracting investment in the tourism sector, developing practical cooperation with Japan in the area of labor migration, and expanding cultural and humanitarian ties.
