At least 32 people, including one child, were injured in a series of strikes by Russian armed forces on Ukrainian cities, particularly Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia region, on December 17, 2025. This was reported by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
According to him, Russian forces used guided bombs and drones, damaging residential buildings, infrastructure, and an educational institution. In the regional center, two residential buildings were hit, and people may be trapped under the rubble.
On December 17, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of ongoing Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia region using aerial bombs and drones. An air raid alert remains in effect in the region.
Additionally, Russian drones attacked the Cherkasy and Sumy regions of Ukraine on the night of December 18. In Sumy, civilian infrastructure was damaged, and windows in residential and non-residential buildings were blown out. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties, but one person was injured. In the Cherkasy region, strikes were also recorded on the regional capital, resulting in infrastructure damage, power outages, and explosions, according to local media.
On December 17, Russian drones attacked the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where residential buildings were hit, casualties were reported, and an emergency rescue operation is underway.
In the Odessa region, a residential building and an educational institution were damaged that same day. Seven people were injured, six of whom were treated at the scene, and one person was hospitalized in moderate condition.
The ongoing war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is leading to significant destruction of civilian infrastructure, residential buildings and educational institutions, as well as casualties and injuries among the civilian population.
