In his address to the country's parliament, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon announced an increase in wages for social workers and social benefits effective September 1, 2026.
According to the head of state, salaries for education workers—primary and secondary—will be increased by 25 percent. For workers in other social sectors, as well as scholarship recipients, the increase will be 20 percent.
Additionally, a 20 percent salary increase for law enforcement officers is envisaged. The minimum wage will be set at 1,300 somoni per month starting September 1, 2026, compared to the current 1,000 somoni.
The President also announced a planned indexation of social and state insurance pensions, as well as old-age pensions. Payments will increase by 15 percent, aimed at increasing citizens' financial security and improving their social status.
The implementation of these measures is intended to strengthen social protection for the population, improve the standard of living of citizens, and stimulate the professional activity of workers in key industries.
