Tajikistan's Hydrometeorological Center reports rising water levels in a number of rivers across the country from December 13 to 15 due to predicted precipitation.
Forecasters are warning of rising water levels in the Yakhsu and Kyzylsu (southern) rivers, as well as in rivers flowing down the southern slopes of the Gissar Range. In mountainous areas, precipitation will turn to snow.
"This is due to precipitation throughout the republic, which could lead to rising water levels in the rivers in question," the Hydrometeorological Center said in a statement.
Residents of regions located near rivers are advised to exercise caution and follow official warnings from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and local authorities.
