On December 8, 2025, the State Duma of the Russian Federation will host a joint meeting of the Council and the eighteenth plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA), chaired by Vyacheslav Volodin. This was reported by the State Duma press service.
The meeting's agenda includes issues of harmonizing the legislation of CSTO member states and countering modern challenges and threats within the organization's area of responsibility. A discussion of the Assembly's draft statement on ensuring international security in the emerging multipolar world is also planned.
Parliamentary delegations from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Iran will take part in the event.
Earlier on Sunday, members of the delegation visited the Manege Central Exhibition Hall, where they viewed the historical documentary project "Great Victory. Russia – My History," prepared by the National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The delegates also viewed the exhibition "No Statute of Limitations. Nuremberg. 80 Years," dedicated to the International Military Tribunal for Nazi war criminals, which shaped important principles of international law.
The Assembly places particular emphasis on protecting the historical truth about the USSR's role in the defeat of Nazi Germany and the heroism of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma and Chairman of the CSTO PA Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that preserving the memory of the Victory should be a priority for interparliamentary cooperation.
