The book "Mavlono and Human Civilization" by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was awarded first place in the "Dialogue of Cultures" category at the 7th International "Art of the Book" competition of the Commonwealth of Independent States member countries, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.
On December 4, the awards ceremony for the winners of the VII International Competition of CIS Member States "The Art of the Book" took place in Moscow.
Representatives from 7 CIS member states and more than 60 publishing houses took part in the award ceremony.
Tajikistan was represented at the event by Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan, People's Poet of Tajikistan Davlat Safar.
As part of the competition, publishers from participating countries submitted their publications in the following categories: "Commonwealth," "My Homeland," "Dialogue of Cultures," "Book for Children and Teenagers," "Science and Education," "Illustrated Book," "Art of Illustration," and "Published in the Commonwealth."
Tajikistan publishers have received nine international awards. Previously, the book "A Look at History and the Aryan Civilization" by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, also won the "Art of the Book" International Competition for CIS countries in the "Science and Life" category.
The International Book Art Competition has been held among CIS member states since 2004. It is organized at the initiative of the Interstate Council for Cooperation in Periodical Press, Publishing, Book Distribution, and Printing, with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.
