On December 2, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, received the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, at the Palace of the Nation, the press service of the head of state reported.



Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the level and content of relations between Tajikistan and Turkey, including in the area of parliamentary diplomacy.
It was noted that comprehensive relations with Turkey occupy a special place in the foreign policy of our state.
It was emphasized that political dialogue at the highest and high levels, as well as inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, contribute to the expansion of multifaceted cooperation.
One of the important topics of conversation was also the expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
In this regard, it was emphasized that our countries have the potential for closer cooperation in priority areas—the textile industry, aluminum processing, the implementation of investment projects in the real sectors of the Tajik economy, and the creation of joint production ventures based on local raw materials.
The activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA) were described as an important tool for expanding bilateral ties.
Both sides also confirmed their interest in further developing cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture and tourism.
In addition, a constructive exchange of views took place on issues of cooperation in the international arena to resolve current international and regional issues.
