On December 1, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with the heads of the country's security and law enforcement agencies, the presidential press service reported.
The meeting discussed the current situation on the state border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, as well as measures to strengthen its security.
According to a report from officials, over the past week, there have been two incidents of shelling from the Afghan side into Tajikistan, resulting in the deaths of five people and the injury of five more.
President Emomali Rahmon strongly condemned the illegal and provocative actions of Afghan citizens and instructed those responsible to take effective measures to resolve the situation and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
