On November 28, 2025, the first meeting of the Cooperation Commission between the Majlisi Milli (Upper House) of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National People's Congress of China on issues of interaction was held in Beijing. The event was organized with the aim of strengthening interparliamentary ties, expanding political and economic cooperation, and promoting friendly relations between the two countries, according to the press service of the Majlisi Milli of Tajikistan.
The Tajik delegation was led by Akhmadzoda Rajab, First Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan. High-ranking representatives of both countries participated in the meeting, including members of parliament, heads of relevant committees, and experts in interparliamentary cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues related to the development of interparliamentary cooperation, strengthening economic and trade ties, and expanding joint work in the cultural, educational, and humanitarian spheres. Particular attention was paid to the development of mechanisms for regular interaction, the development of joint programs, and the creation of new platforms for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue regular meetings at various levels and emphasized the importance of joint work to strengthen trust and sustainable relations between the states.
Following the meeting, it was noted that Tajik-Chinese relations are developing in the spirit of mutual trust, traditional friendship, and strategic partnership, and have high potential for further expansion in the interests of both peoples.
