Inter-MFA consultations on "Cooperation between CIS Member States in Culture, Science, Education, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Policy in the Context of Participation in Relevant International and Regional Projects and Events" took place in Moscow on November 27, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the consultations.
The meeting participants discussed ways to further deepen productive cooperation between the Commonwealth member states in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. They exchanged views on promoting the common priorities of the CIS countries, including participation in major international and regional cultural and humanitarian projects and events, as well as expanding contacts between relevant departments and organizations in the fields of culture, science, education, sports, tourism, and youth policy.
Representatives of the foreign affairs agencies confirmed their readiness to promote the further development of international cultural and humanitarian cooperation as part of interstate interaction and to maintain constructive dialogue in this area. They emphasized the importance of cultural and civilizational diversity, the preservation of cultural identity, respect for traditions and values, and each other's cultural and historical heritage.
