Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Tajikistan Aymyrat Gochmyradov, at which the parties discussed expanding partnerships in the electric power and oil and gas sectors, the ministry's press service reported .
During the talks, both countries emphasized their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the energy sector and other mutual areas. The parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation in the electric power industry, as well as in the oil and gas sector.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, scheduled for December in Dushanbe. Participants noted that this meeting will create additional favorable conditions for strengthening economic, scientific, and technical ties between the countries.
In his speech, Daler Juma noted that bilateral cooperation in all areas, including energy and water resources, is developing dynamically on the initiative and under the leadership of the heads of the two states – President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The ministry's press service noted that the negotiations were held in a working, constructive atmosphere, and the parties agreed to continue preparing specific proposals and initiatives for the December meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
