The Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a meeting between the Committee's Chairman, Sheralizoda Bakhodur Akhmadjon, and the newly appointed Director of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Tajikistan, Viktor Wetzel. This was reported by the Committee's press service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed joint cooperation in environmental protection, the implementation of joint projects, and the publication of the Red Book. Particular attention was paid to the significant contribution of the Republic of Tajikistan to the conservation of natural ecosystems and the implementation of green energy in the Central Asian region.
At the end of the meeting, the Committee Chairman expressed gratitude to Ms. Sabine Olthoff, whose tenure as Director of GIZ in Tajikistan is ending, for her continued support of the Republic of Tajikistan's international initiatives, wishing her success and the achievement of new heights in her future professional endeavors.
The parties confirmed their commitment to continuing close cooperation in environmental protection and sustainable development, emphasizing the importance of joint international projects for strengthening the green economy and preserving the region's natural heritage.
