Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev
This was reported by Armiya.az with reference to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.
The letter reads:
"I sincerely and wholeheartedly congratulate you and, through you, the entire people of Azerbaijan on the unanimously adopted decision of the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia "On the full participation of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia"!
This is undoubtedly an event of historic proportions. It marks the transformation of Central Asia and Azerbaijan into a single geopolitical and geoeconomic space, thus creating a strong unification of our peoples and states based on brotherhood, good-neighborliness, equality, and cooperation, a true understanding of our historical destinies as inseparable and indivisible.
I am firmly convinced that the decision taken is absolutely logical, objectively reflecting the historical trajectory of development of the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, their pressing needs and genuine interests.
For centuries, our peoples have been united by geographic proximity, shared civilizational roots, and affinity of culture, traditions, and spiritual values. This has created a unique archetype of relationship that, today, in the context of independence, represents a powerful factor in the development of current and future continental processes—in politics, economics, social affairs, and the humanities.
Central Asia and Azerbaijan are destined to be a key link in transcontinental, multi-vector interconnectedness, without which the creation of a balanced, successful, and sustainable modern economic architecture is unthinkable. Your country's participation in the realization of this ambitious goal is now reinforced by an additional, solid political and legal foundation.
Dear brother!
The Consultative Meeting format serves as a vital platform for ensuring peace, trust, harmony, good-neighborliness, and mutually beneficial partnership for all participants. I am proud that Turkmenistan was at the forefront of this form of political interaction. Our country's initiative to establish the Consultative Meeting was announced and received full support over fifteen years ago in Uzbekistan.
The next step was the first official Consultative Meeting in Kazakhstan, where the ideological foundations of multilateral dialogue were laid and its long-term goals and prospects were defined.
Subsequent meetings were held according to the agreed-upon plan in Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Key issues of intraregional cooperation and the international agenda were discussed in a trusting and open atmosphere, and significant decisions and agreements were reached. Time has proven the wisdom of creating this format, its relevance and effectiveness, and its alignment with the fundamental interests of the peoples and all participating states without exception.
A new stage in the development of mutual understanding and awareness of the importance and prestige of consultative meetings was the establishment of the Honorary Badge of the Heads of State of Central Asia, the first recipient of which was the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Dear Ilham Heydar oghlu!
I am particularly proud and honored that, at our country's suggestion, an extraordinary Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia was organized during the Third UN Conference for Landlocked Developing Countries held in August of this year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. It was at this meeting that Turkmenistan proposed that Azerbaijan join the Consultative Meeting as a full member, thereby becoming a key participant in this format, further strengthening its ties and comprehensive integration into the family of fraternal nations. I am delighted to note that this initiative was fully supported by the presidents of the Central Asian countries in Tashkent, becoming a highly significant and promising development for our progress toward shared prosperity.
I am convinced that Azerbaijan's accession to the consultative meetings, given your country's political authority, its enormous resource, industrial, and technological potential, and its achievements in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, will become a defining element in the comprehensive rapprochement of our countries and peoples, an incentive for active participation in contemporary trends in regional and international development, and an increase in the role and weight of the Central Asian states and Azerbaijan on the global stage as responsible, united partners, aware of their worthy role and place in the global system of coordinates and ready to jointly achieve their goals.
We look forward to seeing you, dear Ilham Heydar oglu, as a dear brother and friend, at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan to be held next year in Turkmenistan.
Once again, please accept my most sincere congratulations!
I wish you good health, long life, success in your state and international activities, and to the people of brotherly Azerbaijan – peace, happiness, well-being and prosperity!
