On November 19, 2025, in the city of Istaravshan, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon opened and commissioned a number of industrial, educational, medical and administrative facilities aimed at developing the economy, social sphere and creating jobs.
Fayzi Nur LLC, under the national brand "Nur," opened in Industrial Zone No. 2 of Istaravshan. Built by the Fayziev brothers, the entrepreneurs, the enterprise covers a 2-hectare site and consists of four production facilities, a warehouse, a cafeteria, and an administrative building. The total investment amounted to 6 million somoni.
The first building houses two production lines for packaging televisions and smart TVs, designed to replace imports and exports. The second building is used for the production of household appliances, including gas and electric stoves. The opening of the facility has provided permanent employment for 50 local residents, with salaries of up to 3,000 somoni. Future plans include expanding production to include refrigerators, air conditioners, heating equipment, vacuum cleaners, and washing machines, as well as increasing the workforce to 50.
Emomali Rahmon commissioned the furniture factory "Asri Obod" LLC, comprising eight production workshops, in Industrial Zone No. 1 of Istaravshan. The enterprise was built by entrepreneur Kodir Yusufzoda on a 0.34-hectare site. Currently, the company employs over 50 local specialists, 60 percent of whom are women. It produces over 30 import-substituting products, including tables and chairs for businesses and institutions, restaurants, educational and medical institutions, and household items. By 2027, the product range will increase to 40 items, and the number of employees will reach 70.
A production facility for the medicinal water "Khavatagh" was also opened in Istaravshan, built by JSC "Kurort Khavatagh." The facility has a capacity of producing 20,000 liters of medicinal water per day. Extracted from a depth of 1,580 meters, the water possesses unique mineral properties used for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal, liver, kidney, joint, and skin diseases. The second phase plans to produce the water in glass containers, which will create an additional 20 jobs.
In the education sector, four comprehensive schools and three kindergartens were opened in Istaravshan, accommodating 4,200 students and over 400 preschool-age children. The newly opened schools include Secondary Comprehensive Educational Institutions No. 5 named after Abuabdullo Rudaki, No. 46, No. 62, and No. 69, equipped with modern classrooms, gyms, and assembly halls. The kindergartens offer comfortable conditions for learning and playing, and the educational process is conducted in Tajik and Russian, with plans to introduce English.
In the medical and banking sectors, the private medical and diagnostic center "Salokhiddin", the rehabilitation and health center "Khushvakht", and a branch of the State Unitary Enterprise "Sanoatsodirotbank" were commissioned, creating more than 80 jobs.
In the administrative sphere, a new building for the City Prosecutor's Office was opened in the city of Istaravshan. It covers an area of 1,500 square meters and has four floors, 14 offices, a library, and a conference room, providing working conditions for eight specialists.
In total, 28 facilities were commissioned in Istaravshan on November 19, 2025, including three industrial enterprises, four educational institutions, three kindergartens, four healthcare facilities, four sports and recreation facilities, two administrative buildings, and seven service centers. A total of approximately 250 new jobs were created.
Emomali Rahmon praised the implementation of projects aimed at industrialization, import substitution, social development, and improving the living conditions of the local population, and also noted the importance of entrepreneurial initiatives for the country's sustainable economic growth.
