On November 12, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel General Emomali Sobirzoda , held a meeting in Islamabad with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, General Sahir Shamshod Mirzo , the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan reported .
The parties agreed to expand cooperation in the area of military and military-technical cooperation, conduct joint exercises, exchange experiences, and organize training for military personnel.
The official visit of the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan began with a reception ceremony in Islamabad, which included a guard of honor, the performance of the national anthems of Tajikistan and Pakistan, and an introduction of the delegations of both countries.
During the bilateral meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the peace-loving policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon , and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan , Shahbaz Sharif , and also positively assessed the prospects for further development of cooperation based on this policy.
During the talks, issues of military-technical cooperation, joint exercises, exchange of experience, and military training were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening friendly and fraternal relations amid the unstable situation in the region and the world.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
