The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, addressed the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, held in Samarkand. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During his speech, S. Mukhriddin emphasized the significance of the historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people and noted the significant contribution of their ancestors to the development of global science and culture. He emphasized that Tajikistan's spiritual heritage is an integral part of universal human values and contributes to strengthening mutual understanding between peoples.
The head of the Tajik delegation also highlighted pressing global issues, including climate change and glacier melting. He noted Tajikistan's active role in addressing these challenges and emphasized that the first High-Level International Conference on Glacier Conservation, held in Dushanbe in May 2025, marked the beginning of a new phase of global cooperation in this area.
Sirojiddin Mukhriddin emphasized the need to strengthen international cooperation to preserve natural and cultural heritage, as well as the importance of joint efforts by UNESCO Member States to ensure sustainable development and protect the global cultural heritage.
