In Dushanbe, the movement of electric scooters, e-scooters, and other personal vehicles (except state-registered vehicles) on city roads and pedestrian areas has been temporarily banned until 2030. This was reported by the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The decision was made based on a resolution of the Assembly of People's Deputies of the capital of Tajikistan. An exception to the ban will be designated areas for the use of such vehicles.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs press service noted that the restrictions are aimed at regulating the use of electric scooters and e-scooters, reducing the number of road accidents involving them, preventing obstruction of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and protecting the rights and interests of all road users.
"The restriction will remain in effect until the necessary infrastructure for the safe operation of such vehicles is created," the department clarified.
Due to the restrictions imposed, citizens, especially parents of minors, are strongly advised not to leave children unattended and to refrain from using prohibited vehicles.
