On September 28-29 of this year, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdavs Tolibzoda, participated in and delivered a speech at the 7th meeting of the Forum of Central Banks of the Standing Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-COMCEC) in Istanbul, Turkey, the National Bank's press department reported.

Speaking on the topic "Assessing Tajikistan's Progress in Accordance with the Four Priority Areas of the OIC-2025 Program," Firdavs Tolibzoda stated that over the past ten years, despite financial uncertainty and a challenging global political and economic environment, Tajikistan has maintained its commitment to inclusive and sustainable development and social stability, and has made significant progress in implementing the OIC-2025 priority areas. Specifically, the poverty rate in the country has decreased from 32% to 20.4%, and the average monthly wage has increased severalfold. In the financial sector, bank assets have nearly tripled, and the level of non-performing loans has significantly decreased.
Significant achievements have also been recorded in the field of digitalization: the number of mobile phone and internet subscribers has increased tenfold over the past ten years, and the volume of cashless payments has reached billions of US dollars. This process has created new financial opportunities for individuals and businesses and laid the foundation for the development of the digital economy.
The Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan emphasized that the country, based on the principles of inclusive development and social stability, is committed to strengthening regional solidarity and collective cooperation among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
