In Tajikistan's Khatlon region, farmers plan to harvest over 254,000 tons of cotton in 2025, according to the region's executive authority.
Of the 19 cities and districts in the region where cotton is being planted, the cotton growers of Levakant and Bokhtar led the nationwide harvest. In Levakant, cotton was sown on 1,030 hectares , and in Bokhtar, on 250 hectares . The harvest plan in these two districts was approximately 2,300 tons.
According to local authorities, Levakant farms have already harvested 2,345.7 tons of cotton , which is 101.99% of the planned harvest. Bokhtar has harvested 518.9 tons , or 100.74% of the projected volume. The entire harvest was delivered to collection centers on time.
Authorities note that 123,000 hectares of land have been sown with cotton in Khatlon Region this season. As of September 22, 122,900 tons of cotton have been harvested, representing 48.35% of the projected harvest.
As the Khatlon Region Executive Authority emphasized, the fields are seeing a good harvest, and farmers are determined to complete the harvest as quickly as possible.
According to the forecast, farmers in Khatlon region should harvest 254.3 thousand tons of cotton .
Cotton, traditionally known in Tajikistan as "white gold," remains one of the country's key agricultural crops and plays a vital role in the region's economy, providing raw materials for the processing industry and creating jobs for the rural population.
