Today, the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will take place in the capital of Belarus, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The meeting will traditionally be held in two formats: narrow and broad. The agenda includes 15 key issues related to the development of cooperation in various fields, including science and technology, forestry and the forest industry, digital technologies, agriculture and construction, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
The heads of government will discuss and approve draft Action Plans for the implementation of the second stage of the CIS Economic Development Strategy until 2030, as well as for the preparation and implementation of the Year of Health in the Commonwealth in 2026.
It is noted that the Republic of Tajikistan will chair the CIS in 2025. As part of the organization's work, a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State is expected to be held in Dushanbe in the first half of October.
The discussion at the Minsk meeting is expected to be an important step in strengthening economic, technological, and humanitarian cooperation between the Commonwealth member states, and will also allow for the coordination of joint initiatives for the implementation of strategic development plans for the coming years.
