The opening of the first international exhibition "The World of Tajik Embroidery" was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, organized by the National Museum of Tajikistan, the museum's press center reported.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli, the director of the National Carpet Museum of Azerbaijan Amina Melikova, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Ilkhom Abdurahmon, the director of the National Museum of Tajikistan Zafarsho Ibrohimzoda, and other officials.
During the ceremony, the significance of the exhibition as an event promoting cultural dialogue between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan was emphasized.
Tajik embroidery, one of the most ancient and exquisite forms of decorative and applied art, reflects the aesthetic ideals, spiritual values, and cultural aspirations of the Tajik people.
Visitors were particularly interested in the rich collection of exhibits created by artisans from Khujand, Istaravshan, Kulob, Panjakent, Rasht, Gorno-Badakhshan, and other regions. This was the first time this unique collection was presented to the general public outside of Tajikistan.
The exhibition "The World of Tajik Embroidery" has become an important cultural event aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two fraternal peoples.
