Tajikistan Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau. The talks took place on September 25 in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, and economic spheres, as well as security cooperation. Particular attention was paid to strengthening partnerships within international organizations.
The interlocutors exchanged views on challenges and threats to regional and global security, emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue between Tajikistan and the United States, and noted the need to further deepen regional cooperation.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry emphasized that such meetings contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and developing sustainable ties between Dushanbe and Washington.
